Manfrotto 055PROB (Bogen 3021BPRO) Professional Tripod

The Manfrotto 055PROB is not a heavy-duty tripod. It's just a step above Manfrotto 190 series, with slightly better specifications. But if you do not need extra weight load and rigidity for huge telephoto lenses, then the 055PROB will serve you well. It offers you a whole range of useful features like the ability to stoop close to ground as well as position the column both horizontally and vertically very quickly.

The 055PROB tripod will work fine with cameras from compact point-and-shoot models up to professional SLR cameras, as long as it doesn't involve huge lenses. Manfrotto tripods offer very good price-performance value, especially when weight load is not the biggest concern.

However, 055PROB is not a high-end model, and its built quality shows. Using plastics on certain parts of the tripod has made it somewhat flimsy. This is especially true for the center column holder. If you don't need the PRO ability to place the center column horizontally, then the 055CLB will be a better tripod for you. Without the need for a flexible center column, the fixed center column should be more rigid.

With its many features, the Manfrotto 055PROB easily serves all my needs. Sadly, it is a little too heavy for long camera trips, so this tripod will probably stay at home for use in product shots! If you are a photographer who do not require additional weight loading beyond 6kg and do not mind the weight, this tripod should be able to meet your requirements easily.
