First of all, it had great packaging with a great package. It came not only with a tin case to protect and transport the Archetype in, but also a mouse cord clip, a full colour Product Guide and a case sticker! For us, the mouse cord clip was the highlight of the accessories included in the package. The Archetype is a large mouse pad, with a mousing surface area of approximately 640 cm2. That's really large enough for everyone, but yet small and thin enough to easily carry around for LAN parties. When it came to the mousing surface itself, you have the choice of two different surface textures - a smooth F10.s texture and a rough F30.r texture. Best of all, you can easily switch from one surface texture to another in seconds! Although we noticed some warping in the Archetype, it was minimal and didn't seem to affect its performance. In fact, we put it through the paces and it worked great no matter what we threw at it. Overall, Func Industries did a great job with the new Archetype. It had a great package, great features and great performance. Probably the only drawback would be the slight warping in the test sample. If only they could get it totally flat - we would have given this our Editor's Choice Award. Perhaps the upcoming MBA (Machined Billet Aluminium) model of the Archetype will ensure a totally flat base. As such, we are giving this fantastic mouse pad our Reviewer's Choice Award! After thorough testing, we will post a Comprehensive Review of the product. This adds on to the pictorial review with comprehensive test results and our final conclusion on the product.
But no matter whether you are reading a Pictorial Review or a Comprehensive Review, you can always read the summary of the review as well as examine the product's specifications right on the first page.
