Quake 4

Like Doom 3, Quake 4 also benefited more from running two cards in SLI. But the overclocked GeForce 7900 GT came nudged a little closer to the performance of the two cards in SLI.
3DMark 06

According to 3DMark 06, running two GeForce 7900 GT cards in SLI will only give you about 52% better performance than a single card. That doesn't sound like much, but the results also show that overclocking the GeForce 7900 GT only increased its 3DMark 06 score by a mere 16%.

Again, running two cards in SLI would give you a bigger boost in performance over both a single card and an overclocked single card. The margins in this SM 2.0 test were 81.5% and 48% respectively.

It was almost the same in the SM3.0 test, where running two cards in SLI produced the greatest improvement in performance over the single card. Of course, overclocking a single card is free, whereas you will need to fork out a lot of cash for another GeForce 7900 GT to run two in SLI.
