The Petaling Jaya Police just set up CMCO roadblocks at three highway tolls in Petaling Jaya, to enforce the CMCO / PKPB lockdown SOP.

On 21 October 2020, Petaling Jaya Police Chief ACP Nik Ezanee bin Mohd Faisal announced that the Petaling Jaya police has taken the initiative to set up CMCO roadblocks at these three highway tolls :

  • NKVE Highway : Subang Toll
  • PLUS Highway : Sungai Buloh Toll
  • PLUS Highway : Damansara Toll

The CMCO roadblocks are on both sides of the tolls, to check on people entering and leaving Petaling Jaya.

Why Setup These CMCO Roadblocks In Petaling Jaya?

The purpose of these CMCO roadblocks, according to ACP Nik Ezanee is to i:

He called for the public to slow down while approaching and passing through these CMCO roadblocks, to protect the safety of their frontliners and other drivers.

He also reminded everyone to comply with the number of people inside their vehicles, and to stay at home unless it is necessary for them to go out.

Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya is under a CMCO (PKPB) lockdown from 14-27 October 2020. After a third wave of COVID-19 cases, the Malaysia National Security Council ordered a CMCO (Conditional Movement Control Order) in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya. The CMCO lockdown of KL, Selangor and Putrajaya will kick off at 12:01 AM on 14 October 2020, and last until 27 October 2020. KL, Selangor, Putrajaya CMCO / PKPB : Official MKN SOP Here is the confirmed MKN SOP on what's allowed and what's not allowed during the CMCO / PKPB lockdown of KL, Selangor and Putrajaya : GENERAL Only two persons from each household are allowed to go out to purchase daily necessities. People at high risk and children are not encouraged to go out. No one is allowed to enter or leave the areas under CMCO lockdown. Cross-district travel is forbidden, except for work, economic or industrial purposes. Cross-district travel for emergencies (sickness and funeral) requires advanced notice to the police. Workers will need a valid work pass or letter of permission from their employers to get past state and district roadblocks. Employers are encouraged to let their employees work from home. Travellers from other states who need to pass through Selangor and Kuala Lumpur to other states should obtain prior permission from the nearest police station. Individuals who intend to travel by air through KLIA, KLIA2 and Subang Airport must obtain prior permission from the police. Residents of KL, Selangor and Putrajaya are allowed to return from outstation, with the permission of the police. ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES All business, economic and industrial activity can proceed as usual. Businesses must ensure that customers are physically distanced by 1 meter while entering or leaving their premises. Businesses must limit the number of customers within their premise, and publicly display the maximum number of customers allowed inside. Supermarkets, shopping malls and retail stores are allowed, but must follow the established SOP. Restaurants, food stores, food trucks, hawkers, food courts, food stalls, food kiosks, groceries and convenience stores are allowed to open from 6 AM until 10 PM. Dine-in is allowed but limited to 2 person per table, but must follow the Food Sector SOP. Food deliveries, drive-through purchases and food take-aways are encouraged. Wholesale markets are allowed to open from 4 AM until 2 PM. Daily markets are allowed to open from 6 AM until 2 PM. Farmer's markets are allowed to open from 6 AM until 12 PM. Night markets are allowed to open from 4 PM until 10 PM. Petrol stations are allowed to open from 6 AM until 10 PM, except for those on highways - they can open 24 hours Public buses, express buses, MRT, LRT, ERL, Monorail, taxi and e-hailing services are allowed to operate. Taxis and e-hailing vehicles are limited to 2 passengers, and allowed to operate from 6 AM until 12 midnight. Food deliveries are allowed to operate from 6 AM until 12 midnight. All transportation and delivery vehicles involved in industry, business, and manufacturing are allowed to continue as normal, including cross-district and cross-state travel. HEALTHCARE Public and private clinics and hospitals are allowed to open 24 hours. Pharmacies and drugstores are allowed to open from 8 AM until 11 PM. FISHING, FARMING, PLANTATION INDUSTRIES The fishing, farming, plantation, livestock and related food chain industries are allowed to operate. PORTS + AIRPORTS All ports and airport services are allowed to operate. However, individuals who intend to travel by air through KLIA, KLIA2 and Subang Airport must obtain prior permission from the police. RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES All religious activities in mosques, suraus and all other houses of worship are forbidden. Mosques and suraus are allowed to recite the akan, and establish the five daily prayers with up to 6 congregants, including the imam. The management and workers at all other houses of worship are limited to a maximum of 6. Friday prayers will be determined by the state religious authorities. ENTERTAINMENT, RECREATION + CULTURAL ACTIVITIES All sports, recreational, social and cultural activities, including weddings, are forbidden. Entertainment centres, pubs and night clubs are forbidden to open. Theme parks, indoor playgrounds and cinemas are forbidden to open. SPORTS Individual sporting activities and non-contact recreation or those performed individually and not involving more than 10 people, like e-sports, walking, jogging, cycling, aerobics, hiking, fishing, and so on in the open are permitted. Indoor activities, camping, swimming, water sports, physical sports, combat sports, sporting tournaments are forbidden. Sporting events and competitions with spectators and/or with participants from other states are forbidden. Training programs by the National Sports Council and state sports councils can continue according to a Quarantine Based Approach. EDUCATION All public and private schools, institutions of higher learning, vocational training institutes, kindergartens, day care centres, tahfiz centres, public parks and recreation centres must close. However, students who are undergoing exams are permitted to continue taking their exams. SEMINARS / WORKSHOPS / CONFERENCES All seminars, workshops, courses, training, conferences, lectures and MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) are forbidden. In-service training can continue but must be limited to the training area only. Face to face meetings are discouraged, and should be held through video conferencing. CELEBRATIONS Official and unofficial government and private ceremonies, and social events like weddings, banquets, engagement parties, aqiqah ceremonies, tahlil, birthdays, anniversary parties, reunions are forbidden. TOURISM All tourism activities out of the CMCO areas, and inside the CMCO areas are forbidden. COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe! As a reminder, here are the current travel SOP for CMCO / PKPB lockdown.

  • Only two persons from each household are allowed to go out to purchase daily necessities.
  • People at high risk and children are not encouraged to go out.
  • No one is allowed to enter or leave the areas under CMCO lockdown.
  • Cross-district travel is forbidden, except for work, economic or industrial purposes.
  • Cross-district travel for emergencies (sickness and funeral) requires advanced notice to the police.
  • Workers will need a valid work pass or letter of permission from their employers to get past state and district roadblocks.
  • Employers are encouraged to let their employees work from home.
    In Red Zones : management and administrative staff in public and private sectors are ordered to work from home, starting 22 October 2020.

NOTE : There is NO NEED for the passenger to sit behind the driver. Passengers will NOT GET FINED for sitting next to the driver.
