Truth : Countries Are Not Giving Boosters To Kill Children!
This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS created and propagated by anti-vaccination activists, and here are the reasons why…
Fact #1 : Video Was From December 2021
First, I need to point out that this is not a new video, but is about a year old. It was a clip from a December 20, 2021 WHO press briefing.
Fact #2 : Dr. Ghebreyesus Stuttered
In the video, the WHO Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus – the WHO Director-General, appears to say:
So if it’s going to be used, it’s better to focus on those groups who have risk of severe diseases and death rather than, as we see in some countries, are using to give boosters to kill children.
The truth is – Dr. Tedros got stuttered and mispronounced the first syllable of the word “children”, so it came out sounding like “kil-children“.

Fact #3 : WHO Confirmed He Mispronounced The Word
Back in December 2021, a WHO spokesperson had already explained that Dr. Tedros mispronounced the word, “children”.
[Dr. Tedros] got stuck on the first syllable [of children] ‘chil’ and it came out sounding like ‘cil/kil.’ He then correctly pronounced the same syllable immediately after, with it coming out audibly as ‘cil-children’
Any other interpretation of this is 100% incorrect.
Fact #4 : Subtitles Created By Auto-Captioning
The subtitles that purportedly show Dr. Tedros saying that some countries are giving boosters to kill children were created by auto-captioning. They were not official subtitles.
Fact #5 : Official Transcript Showed Proper Pronunciation
The official transcript of the WHO press conference showed the proper words being used.
There is new evidence emerging now of its benefits, especially with elderly groups, senior citizens, especially above 65 and above 60. So, if it’s going to be used, it’s better to focus on those groups who have the risk of severe disease and death, rather than, as we see, some countries are using to give boosters to children, which is not right.
Try reading it with and without the word “kill”, and you will see that his statement makes more sense without the word “kill”.
He was explaining how it would be better to give the booster doses to more vulnerable people like senior citizens, instead of children.

Fact #6 : Booster Doses Safe For Children
While some anti-vaccination activists are sharing it as evidence that even the WHO DG knows that the booster dose is dangerous to children, that’s completely bogus.
The booster dose is nothing more than an additional dose of the primary vaccine dose. Hence, there is no additional risk from the booster dose.
On top of that, the vaccine dose for children is often lower than the dose for adults. For example, the Pfizer vaccine for children is only ⅓ of the vaccine dose for adults.
Fact #7 : Booster Doses Continue To Be Given To Children
I should also point out that if the booster doses were found to be dangerous, doctors would have stopped administering them.
Yet, booster doses for children continue to be approved globally, and hundreds of millions of booster doses have already been administered to children worldwide.
That’s because the booster doses are safe, and Dr. Tedros only stuttered when he tried to advise countries to focus on more vulnerable senior citizens, instead of children.
