COVID-19 in Malaysia : 2470 Cases, 150 New, 7 More Dead

What a day for Malaysia – 150 new COVID-19 cases and SEVEN deaths today, but we also discharged 68 patients who have fully recovered!

Here are the updates on COVID-19 in Malaysia on 29 March 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 68 More Patients Recovered!

As of 12 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another sixty eight (68) patients have fully recovered, and been discharged from hospital.

That means a total of 388 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far!

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 150 New Cases!

They identified 150 new COVID-19 cases today – bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 2470.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU remained at seventy three (73), with two fewer patients requiring respiratory support – fifty two (52) at the current count.

Here is the breakdown of cases by state. Selangor has the highest number at 579 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 344 cases, and Johor with 285 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : SEVEN Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced SEVEN deaths today – the highest daily record so far, which means a total of 34 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia.

Death #28: Case 2,321 is a 91 year-old Malaysian woman who has a history of diabetes, hypertension and kidney disease. She was admitted into University of Malaya Medical Centre on 26 March 2020. She was pronounced dead on 28 March 2020 at 8.48 am.

Death #29: Case 2,123 is a 64 year-old Malaysian woman who has a history of diabetes and hypertension. She was admitted into Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital, Negeri Sembilan on 25 March 2020. She was pronounced dead on 28 March 2020 at 10.15 pm.

Death #30: Case 2,322 is a 76 year-old Malaysian man who has a history of diabetes, hypertension and kidney disease. He was admitted into University of Malaya Medical Centre. He was pronounced dead on 28 March 2020 at 11.33 pm.

Death #31: Case 2,323 is a 27 year-old Malaysian man who has a history of diabetes, hypertension and kidney disease. He was admitted into Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, Perak on 27 March 2020. He was pronounced dead on 28 March 2020 at 7.44 pm.

Death #32: Case 1,239 is a 50 year-old Malaysian man who has a history of hypertension. He was a participant at the gathering in Seri Petaling mosque. He was admitted into Enche’ Besar Hajjah Kalsom Hospital, Johor on 22 March 2020. He was pronounced dead on 28 March 2020 at 7.44 pm.

Death #33: Case 1,249 is a 37 year-old Malaysian man who has a history of travelling to India. He was admitted into Permai Hospital, Johor on 21 March 2020. He was pronounced dead on 28 March 2020 at 11.25 pm.

Death #34: Case 787 is a 77 year-old Malaysian man who has a history of hypertension. He was admitted into Kuala Lumpur Hospital on 18 March 2020. He was pronounced dead on 29 March 2020 at 10.40 am.

Day 12 Of Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 12th day of the nationwide lockdown on travel, work and business in Malaysia, which has been extended until 14 April, 2020.

The Malaysian government also announced that Hulu Langat will be placed under Enhanced MCO for the next two weeks, from 30 March until 13 April 2020. This follows the Enhanced MCO on two areas in Simpang Renggam from 27 March until 9 April 2020.

During this time, all government and private offices and businesses will be closed, except those providing essential services.

Although there are no restrictions on travel within Malaysia during this lockdown, you will have nowhere to go, as all shops will be closed, except supermarkets, grocery shops and convenience stores selling essential items.

Schools, colleges, universities, cinemas, and so on, will also be closed. Cafes and restaurants will be closed for dine-in patrons, but you will be able to take-away food, or have them delivered to you.
