COVID-19 in Malaysia : 3483 Cases, 150 New, 4 More Dead

Malaysia today recorded 150 new COVID-19 cases and FOUR deaths, but also discharged 88 patients who have fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 88 More Patients Recovered!

As of 12 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 88 patients have fully recovered, and been discharged from hospital – the most in a single day!

That means a total of 915 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 26.27%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 150 New Cases!

They identified 150 new COVID-19 cases today – bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 3483, with 2,511 active cases.

Of those new cases, 80 cases were confirmed to be related to the Tabligh congregation at Seri Petaling.

The Tabligh congregation current accounts for 1545 cases (44.36%) of the 3483 total cases. This is the largest COVID-19 cluster in Malaysia, with multiple generations of transmissions.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU dropped to 99, with four fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 50 at the current count.

Here is the breakdown of cases (as of 3 April), according to states. Selangor maintains the highest total at 863 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 543 cases, and Johor with 416 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : FOUR Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced FOUR deaths today, which means a total of 57 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.64%.

54th Death : Case 2149 was a 85 year-old Malaysian female, with heart disease. She was admitted to the National Heart Institute on 23 March 2020, but passed away on 28 March 2020 at 12:10 AM.

55th Death : Case 860 was a 66 year-old Malaysian female, with hypertension. She was admitted to the Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital in Kelantan on 18 March 2020, but passed away on 3 April 2020 at 4:00 PM.

56th Death : Case 2850 was a 56 year-old Malaysian male with heart disease. He was a close contact of Case 1031. He was admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital on 30 March 2020, but passed away on 3 April 2020 at 4:16 PM.

57th Death : Case 1575 was a 61 year-old Malaysian male with diabetes. He was admitted to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan, Pahang on 23 March 2020, but passed away on 3 April 2020 at 10:25 PM.

Day 18 Of Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 18th day of the nationwide lockdown on travel, work and business in Malaysia, which has been extended until 14 April, 2020.

During this time, all government and private offices and businesses will be closed, except those providing essential services.

Although there are no restrictions on travel within Malaysia during this lockdown, you will have nowhere to go, as all shops will be closed, except supermarkets, grocery shops and convenience stores selling essential items.

Schools, colleges, universities, cinemas, and so on, will also be closed. Cafes and restaurants will be closed for dine-in patrons, but you will be able to take-away food, or have them delivered to you.
