COVID-19 in Malaysia : 4683 Cases, 2108 Healed, 76 Dead

Malaysia today recorded 153 new COVID-19 cases and THREE deaths, but also discharged 113 patients who have fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 113 More Patients Recovered!

As of 5 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 113 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 2108 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 45.0%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 153 New Cases!

They identified 153 new COVID-19 cases today – bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 4683, with 2499 active cases.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU dropped to 66, with one fewer patient requiring respiratory support – 37 at the current count.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Selangor maintains the highest total at 1,236 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 803 cases, and Johor with 558 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : THREE Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced THREE deaths today, which means a total of 76 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.62%.

74th Death : Case 4531 was a 54 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and kidney disease. He was admitted to the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital in Negeri Sembilan on 11 April 2020, but passed away on 12 April 2020 at 1:50 AM.

75th Death : Case 3469 was a 90 year-old Malaysian male with a history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He was admitted to the Taiping Hospital on 1 April 2020, but passed away on 12 April 2020 at 5:23 AM.

76th Death : Case 4314 was a 47 year-old Malaysian female with a history of hypertension. She was admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital on 8 April 2020, but passed away on 12 April 2020 at 7:36 AM.

Day 26 Of Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 26th day of the nationwide lockdown on travel, work and business in Malaysia, which has today been extended until 28 April, 2020.

During this time, all government and private offices and businesses will be closed, except those providing essential services.

Malaysians are to restrict their movement during this lockdown, with only a single person in each vehicle. All shops are also closed, except supermarkets, grocery shops and convenience stores selling essential items.

Schools, colleges, universities, cinemas, and so on, remain closed. Cafes and restaurants will be closed for dine-in patrons, but you will be able to take-away food, or have them delivered to you.
