COVID-19 in Malaysia : 5389 Cases, 3197 Healed, 89 Dead

Malaysia today recorded 84 new COVID-19 cases and ONE death, but also discharged 95 patients who have fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 95 More Patients Recovered!

As of 5 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 95 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 3197 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 59.3%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 84 New Cases!

They identified 84 new COVID-19 cases today, raising the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 5389, with 2103 active cases.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU maintained at 49, with the same number of patients requiring respiratory support – 26 at the current count.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Selangor maintains the highest total at 1,343 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 1,004 cases, and Johor with 642 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today, which means a total of 89 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.65%.

89th Death : Case 4769 was a 51 year-old Malaysian male, a close contact of Case 2726, and had a history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and kidney disease. He was admitted to the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor on 13 April 2020, but passed away on 18 April 2020 at 6:49 PM.

Day 33 Of Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 33rd day of the nationwide lockdown on travel, work and business in Malaysia, which on 10 April was further extended until 28 April, 2020. It is also the 4th day of the third phase of the MCO.

During this time, all government and private offices and businesses will be closed, except those providing essential services.

Malaysians are to restrict their movement during this lockdown, with only a single person in each vehicle. All shops are also closed, except supermarkets, grocery shops and convenience stores selling essential items.

Schools, colleges, universities, cinemas, and so on, remain closed. Cafes and restaurants will be closed for dine-in patrons, but you will be able to take-away food, or have them delivered to you.
