COVID-19 in Malaysia : 5532 Cases, 3452 Healed, 93 Dead

Malaysia today recorded 50 new COVID-19 cases and ONE death, but also discharged 103 patients who have fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 103 More Patients Recovered!

As of 5 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 103 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 3452 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 62.4%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 50 New Cases!

They identified 50 new COVID-19 cases today, raising the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 5532, with 1987 active cases.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU maintained at 43, with two fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 25 at the current count.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Selangor maintained the highest total at 1,357 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 1,037 cases, and Johor with 648 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today, which means a total of 93 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.68%.

Death #93 : Case 5483 was a 72 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of cancer and hypertension. She was admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital on 20 April 2020, but passed away on 22 April 2020 at 9:25 AM.

Day 36 Of Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 36th day of the nationwide lockdown on travel, work and business in Malaysia, which on 10 April was further extended until 28 April, 2020. It is also the 7th day of the third phase of the MCO.

During this time, all government and private offices and businesses will be closed, except those providing essential services.

Malaysians are to restrict their movement during this lockdown, with only a single person in each vehicle. All shops are also closed, except supermarkets, grocery shops and convenience stores selling essential items.

Schools, colleges, universities, cinemas, and so on, remain closed. Cafes and restaurants will be closed for dine-in patrons, but you will be able to take-away food, or have them delivered to you.
