COVID-19 in Malaysia : 5851 Cases, 4032 Healed, 100 Dead

Malaysia today recorded just 31 new COVID-19 cases and ONE death, and also discharged 75 patients who have fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 75 More Patients Recovered!

As of 4:30 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 75 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 4,032 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 68.9%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 31 New Cases!

They identified 31 new COVID-19 cases today – the lowest since the Movement Control Order started. This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 5851, with 1719 active cases.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU dropped by one to 36, with no change in the patients requiring respiratory support – 17 at the current count.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Selangor maintained the highest total at 1,403 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 1,214 cases, and Johor with 660 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today, which means a total of 100 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.71%.

Death #100 : Case 3628 was a 67 year-old Malaysian male who had history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and stroke. He was admitted to the Sungai Buloh Hospital on 4 April 2020, but passed away on 28 April 2020 at 9:40 AM.

Day 42 Of Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 42nd day of the nationwide lockdown on travel, work and business in Malaysia, which on 23 April was further extended until 12 May, 2020. It is also the 13th day of the third phase of the MCO.

During this time, all government and private offices and businesses will be closed, except those providing essential services.

Malaysians are to restrict their movement during this lockdown, with only a single person in each vehicle. All shops are also closed, except supermarkets, grocery shops and convenience stores selling essential items.

Schools, colleges, universities, cinemas, and so on, remain closed. Cafes and restaurants will be closed for dine-in patrons, but you will be able to take-away food, or have them delivered to you.
