Malaysia today recorded 45 new COVID-19 cases and ONE death, and discharged 135 patients who have fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 135 More Patients Recovered!
As of 4:30 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 135 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 4,702 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 73.1%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 45 New Cases!
They identified 45 new COVID-19 cases today, of which one was an imported case. This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 6428, with 1619 active cases.
They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU dropped by two to 22, with one additional patient requiring respiratory support – 9 at the current count.
Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Selangor maintained the highest total at 1,564 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 1,378 cases, and Johor with 667 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today, which means a total of 107 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.66%.
Death #107 : Case 2380 was a 51 year-old Malaysian male with a history of diabetes, hypertension and kidney disease. He was admitted to the Sungai Buloh Hospital on 22 April 2020, but passed away on 5 May 2020 at 2:53 PM.

Day 50 Of Movement Control Order In Malaysia
Today marks the 50th day of the nationwide lockdown on travel, work and business in Malaysia, which on 23 April was further extended until 12 May, 2020. It is also the 8th day of the 4th phase of the MCO, and the 3rd day of the Conditional MCO (CMCO)
During this time, all government and private offices and businesses will be closed, except those providing essential services. But up to two persons may go out to purchase essentials, or seek healthcare.
From 4 May 2020 onwards, businesses will be allowed to reopen under the Conditional MCO (CMCO), with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Malaysians are to restrict their movement during this lockdown, with only a single person in each vehicle. All shops are also closed, except supermarkets, grocery shops and convenience stores selling essential items.
Schools, colleges, universities, cinemas, and so on, remain closed. Cafes and restaurants will be closed for dine-in patrons, but you will be able to take-away food, or have them delivered to you.

The Malaysian government has so far announced six Enhanced MCOs :
- Selangor Mansion + Malayan Mansion : 7 April 2020 indefinitely
- Menara City One : 31 March until 13 April 2020
- Hulu Langat : 30 March until 13 April 2020
- Two areas in Simpang Renggam : 27 March until 9 April 2020
- Whole Masjid India Area : 14 April until 28 April 2020
- 8 Parcels In Pusat Bandar Utara : 20 April until 3 May 2020
- 6 Parcels In Selayang Baru : 25 April until 3 May 2020
They also announced “administrative restrictions” for a section of Chow Kit and some residential areas in Selayang.
COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!
Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotpots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
- Keep our home, office, vehicles, etc. clean
- If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
