COVID-19 in Malaysia : 6819 Cases, 5351 Healed, 112 Dead

Malaysia today recorded 40 new COVID-19 cases and ONE death, and discharged 70 patients who have fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 14 May 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 70 More Patients Recovered!

As of 4:30 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 70 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 5,351 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 78.5%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 40 New Cases!

They identified 40 new COVID-19 cases today. This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 6819, with 1356 active cases.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU maintained at 16, with no change in patients requiring respiratory support – just 4 at the current count.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Selangor maintained the highest total at 1,613 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 1,493 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 775 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today, which means a total of 112 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.64%.

Death #112 : Case 6780 was a 39 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of heart valve disease and fractures of both legs from an accident earlier this year. He passed away on 12 May 2020 at 9:52 PM in the emergency ward of Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Pahang.

Day 58 Of Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 58th day of the nationwide lockdown on travel, work and business in Malaysia, which was further extended until 9 May, 2020. It is also the 15th day of the 4th phase of the MCO, and the 10th day of the Conditional MCO (CMCO).

During this time, all government and private offices and businesses will be closed, except those providing essential services. But up to two persons may go out to purchase essentials, or seek healthcare.

From 4 May 2020 onwards, businesses will be allowed to reopen under the Conditional MCO (CMCO), with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.
