COVID-19 in Malaysia : 7009 Cases, 5706 Healed, 114 Dead

Malaysia today recorded 31 new COVID-19 cases and NO death, and discharged 60 patients who have fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 20 May 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 60 More Patients Recovered!

As of 4:30 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 60 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 5,706 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 81.4%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 31 New Cases!

They identified 31 new COVID-19 cases today. This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 7009, with 1189 active cases.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU maintained at 11, with one additional patient requiring respiratory support – just 7 at the current count.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Selangor maintained the highest total at 1,665 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 1,598 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 776 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : NO Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced NO death today, which means a total of 114 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.63%.

Day 64 Of Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 64th day of the nationwide lockdown on travel, work and business in Malaysia, which was further extended until 9 May, 2020. It is also the 21st day of the 4th phase of the MCO, and the 16th day of the Conditional MCO (CMCO).

During this time, all government and private offices and businesses will be closed, except those providing essential services. But up to two persons may go out to purchase essentials, or seek healthcare.

From 4 May 2020 onwards, businesses will be allowed to reopen under the Conditional MCO (CMCO), with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Schools, colleges, universities, cinemas, and so on, remain closed. Cafes and restaurants will be closed for dine-in patrons, but you will be able to take-away food, or have them delivered to you.

The Malaysian government has so far announced eight Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Semi Enhanced MCO for a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
