COVID-19 Malaysia : 8266 Cases, 6610 Recovered, 116 Dead

Malaysia today recorded just 19 new COVID-19 cases and ONE death, and discharged 51 patients who have fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 5 June 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 51 More Patients Recovered!

As of 5:00 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 51 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 6,610 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 80.0%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 19 New Cases!

They identified just 19 new COVID-19 cases today.

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 8266, with 1540 active cases – a decrease of 33 active cases.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU maintained at 6, with one fewer patient requiring respiratory support – just 1 at the current count.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states (as of 3 June). Kuala Lumpur is firmly at the top with 2,099 cases, followed by Selangor with 1,928 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 902 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today – after 10 death-free days, which means a total of 116 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.40%.

Death #116 : Case 7733 was a 61 year-old Malaysian male with a history of hypertension, diabetes and kidney cancer. He was admitted to the Hospital Enche Besar Hajjah Khalsom in Johor on 29 May 2020, but passed away on 4 June 2020 at 10:20 PM.

Day 80 Of Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 80th day of the nationwide lockdown on travel, work and business in Malaysia, which was further extended until 9 May, 2020.

It is also the 37th day of the 4th phase of the MCO, and the 32nd day of the Conditional MCO (CMCO) which started on 4 May 2020.

Under CMCO, businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

The Malaysian government has so far announced eight Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
