COVID-19 Malaysia : 8303 Cases, 6635 Recovered, 117 Dead

Malaysia today recorded 37 new COVID-19 cases and ONE death, and discharged 25 patients who have fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 6 June 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 25 More Patients Recovered!

As of 5:00 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 25 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 6,635 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 79.9%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 37 New Cases!

They identified 37 new COVID-19 cases today.

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 8303, with 1551 active cases – an increase of 11 active cases.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU dropped by one to 5, with no patients requiring respiratory support – for the first time since the MCO started!

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Kuala Lumpur is firmly at the top with 2,389 cases, followed by Selangor with 1,953 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 910 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today – after 10 death-free days, which means a total of 117 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.41%.

Death #117 : Case 2296 was a 79 year-old Malaysian female, who was a close contact of Case 1508. She was symptomatic on 18 March 2020, and was admitted to the Sungai Buloh Hospital on 26 March 2020, but passed away on 5 June 2020 at 2:05 PM.

Day 81 Of Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 81st day of the nationwide lockdown on travel, work and business in Malaysia, which was further extended until 9 May, 2020.

It is also the 38th day of the 4th phase of the MCO, and the 33rd day of the Conditional MCO (CMCO) which started on 4 May 2020.

Under CMCO, businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Schools, colleges, universities, cinemas, and so on, remain closed. Cafes and restaurants will be closed for dine-in patrons, but you will be able to take-away food, or have them delivered to you.

The Malaysian government has so far announced eight Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
