Malaysia today recorded just 2 new COVID-19 cases but ONE death, and discharged 39 patients who have fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 39 More Patients Recovered!
At 5 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 39 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 7,014 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 84.1%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2 New Cases!
They identified 2 new COVID-19 cases today.
- 1 cases were imported from overseas – from Singapore
- 0 local case of Malaysian citizens
- 1 local case was non-Malaysian – close contact of Case 8303 in Kuching
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 8338, with 1206 active cases – a decrease of 38 active cases.
They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU dropped by one to 5, with NO patient requiring respiratory support!
Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states (as of 8 June). Kuala Lumpur is firmly at the top with 2,394 cases, followed by Selangor with 1,968 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 911 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today, which means a total of 118 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.42%.
Death #118 : Case 824 was a 61 year-old Malaysian male, who attended the Tabligh congregation. He had history of diabetes and kidney disease. He was admitted to the Sungai Buloh Hospital on 15 March 2020, but passed away on 10 June 2020 at 7 AM.

Day 1 Of Recovery Movement Control Order In Malaysia
Today marks the first day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 August, 2020.
Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities. However, entertainment outlets, theme parks and cinemas are still not allowed.
The Malaysian government has so far announced eight Enhanced MCOs :
- 3 Zones In PJ Old Town : 10 May until 23 May 2020
- 6 Parcels In Selayang Baru : 25 April until 3 May 2020
- 8 Parcels In Pusat Bandar Utara : 20 April until 3 May 2020
- Whole Masjid India Area : 14 April until 28 April 2020
- Selangor Mansion + Malayan Mansion : 7 April 2020 indefinitely
- Menara City One : 31 March until 13 April 2020
- Hulu Langat : 30 March until 13 April 2020
- Two areas in Simpang Renggam : 27 March until 9 April 2020
They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!
Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotpots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
- Keep our home, office, vehicles, etc. clean
- If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
- Wash your food with water (and soap) after purchase and before preparation
