COVID-19 Malaysia : 8453 Cases, 7346 Recovered, 121 Dead

Malaysia today recorded only 8 new COVID-19 cases and ONE death, and discharged 35 patients who have fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 14 June 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 35 More Patients Recovered!

At 5 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 35 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 7,346 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 86.9%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 8 New Cases!

They identified 8 new COVID-19 cases today.

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 8453, with 986 active cases – a decrease of 28 active cases, and the first time the number dropped below 1000 after the MCO started.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU maintained at 4, with NO patient requiring respiratory support!

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states (as of 8 June). Kuala Lumpur is firmly at the top with 2,394 cases, followed by Selangor with 1,968 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 911 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today, which means a total of 121 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.43%.

Death #121 : Case 7468 was a 67 year-old Indian male citizen with a history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and kidney disease. He was found unconscious at the Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Centre and brought to the Chancellor Tuanku Muhriz UKM Hospital on 12 June 2020.

Day 5 Of Recovery Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 5th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 August, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities. However, entertainment outlets, theme parks and cinemas are still not allowed.

The Malaysian government has so far announced eight Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
