COVID-19 Malaysia : 8704 Cases, 8515 Recovered, 122 Dead

Malaysia today recorded 8 new COVID-19 cases and ONE death, and discharged 4 patients who have fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 11 July 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 4 More Patients Recovered!

At 5 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 4 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 8,515 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 97.8%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 8 New Cases!

They identified 8 new COVID-19 case today :

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 8704, with 67 active cases – an increase of 3 active cases, and the 10th day the number remained below 100 after the MCO started.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU increased by one to just 3, with no change in patients requiring respiratory support – 2 in total.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states (as of 3 July 2020). Kuala Lumpur is at the top with 2,437 cases, followed by Selangor with 2,051 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 1,025 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today – the first after exactly 4 weeks of no fatalities.

This means a total of 122 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.40%.

Death #122 was Case 8702, a 72 year-old Malaysian citizen who was referred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah, with a history of hypertension and diabetes.

Day 32 Of Recovery Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 32nd day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 August, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities. However, entertainment outlets, theme parks and cinemas are still not allowed.

The Malaysian government has so far announced eight Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
