COVID-19 Malaysia : 8764 Cases, 8546 Recovered, 122 Dead

Malaysia today recorded 9 new COVID-19 cases and NO death, and discharged 5 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 18 July 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 5 More Patients Recovered!

At 5 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 5 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 8,546 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 97.5%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 9 New Cases!

They identified a small surge of 9 new COVID-19 cases today :

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 8764, with 96 active cases – an increase of 4 cases, and the 17th day the number remained below 100 after the MCO started.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU dropped by two to  just 1, with no patient requiring respiratory support – 0 right now.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states (as of 7 July). Kuala Lumpur is at the top with 2,446 cases, followed by Selangor with 2,093 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 1,027 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : NO Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced NO death today, which means a total of 122 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.39%.

Day 39 Of Recovery Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 39th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 August, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities. However, entertainment outlets, theme parks and cinemas are still not allowed.

The Malaysian government has so far announced eight Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
