COVID-19 Malaysia : 8897 Cases, 8600 Recovered, 124 Dead

Malaysia today recorded 13 new COVID-19 cases and ONE death, and discharged 6 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 26 July 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 6 More Patients Recovered!

At 5:30 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 6 patients have fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 8,600 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 96.7%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 13 New Cases!

They identified 13 new COVID-19 cases today :

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 8897, with 173 active cases – an increase of 6 cases, and the 8th day Malaysia exceeded 100 new cases during the RMCO period.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU dropped by one to 2, with one fewer patient requiring respiratory support – just 1 right now.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Kuala Lumpur is at the top with 2,460 cases, followed by Selangor with 2,118 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 1,028 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today, which means a total of 124 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.39%.

Death #124 : Case 8743 was a 63 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of hypertension, diabetes, and hypercholesterolemia. She started experiencing fever and cough on 3 July 2020, but only sought treatment on 9 July 2020. She was referred to the Sarawak General Hospital on the same day, but her condition deteriorated and she passed away on 26 July 2020 at 12:04 AM.

Day 46 Of Recovery Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 46th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 August, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities. However, entertainment outlets, theme parks and cinemas are still not allowed.

The Malaysian government has so far announced eight Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
