COVID-19 Malaysia : 8976 Cases, 8644 Recovered, 125 Dead

Malaysia today recorded 12 new COVID-19 cases and ONE death, and discharged 27 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 31 July 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 27 More Patients Recovered!

At 5 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 27 patients fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 8,644 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 96.3%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 12 New Cases!

They identified 12 new COVID-19 cases today :

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 8976, with 207 active cases – a drop of 16 cases, and the 4th day Malaysia exceeded 200 new cases during the RMCO period.

They also shared that the number of COVID-19 cases in the ICU maintained at 3, with no additional patient requiring respiratory support – just 1 right now.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Kuala Lumpur is at the top with 2,476 cases, followed by Selangor with 2,123 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 1,029 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today, which means a total of 125 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.39%.

Death #125 : Case 8974 was a 64 year-old Filipino male with a history of heart disease. He started experiencing cough, fever and breathlessness on 25 July 2020, but did not seek treatment. On 29 July 2020, he was found unconscious and sent to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was confirmed to be COVID-19 positive at the hospital.

Day 51 Of Recovery Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 51st day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 August, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities. However, entertainment outlets, theme parks and cinemas are still not allowed.

The Malaysian government has so far announced eight Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
