COVID-19 Malaysia : 9334 Cases, 9048 Recovered, 126 Dead

Malaysia today reported 17 new COVID-19 casesONE death, and discharged 10 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 30 August 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 10 More Patients Recovered!

At 5 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 10 patients fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 9,048 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 96.9%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 17 New Cases!

They identified 17 new COVID-19 cases today :

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 9334, with 160 active cases – an increase of 6 cases, and the 13th day Malaysia remained below 200 active cases for the 3rd time during the RMCO period.

They also shared that there is one less patient in the ICU – 7 cases right now, and one less patient requiring respiratory support – 5 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Kuala Lumpur is at the top with 2,587 cases, followed by Selangor with 2,167 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 1,034 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today, which means a total of 126 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.35%.

Death #125 : Case 9290 was a 75-year old Malaysian male with a history of diabetes, hypertension, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and heart disease.

He did not have any history of foreign travel, and started experiencing cough and breathing difficulties on 7 August 2020, and was admitted to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Kedah for pneumonia, and was discharged from the hospital on 18 August 2020.

He experienced cough and breathing difficulties again on 21 August 2020, and sought treatment at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital again on 24 August 2020. A screening test confirmed that he was COVID-19 positive.

His condition deteriorated and he passed away on 29 August 2020 at 5:10 PM.

Day 80 Of Recovery Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 80th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 August, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities. However, entertainment outlets, theme parks and cinemas are still not allowed.

The Malaysian government has so far announced eight Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
