COVID-19 Malaysia : 9340 Cases, 9054 Recovered, 127 Dead

Malaysia today reported 6 new COVID-19 casesONE death, and discharged 6 patients who fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 6 More Patients Recovered!

At 5 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 6 patients fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 9,054 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 96.9%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 6 New Cases!

They identified 6 new COVID-19 cases today :

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 9340, with 159 active cases – a drop of 1 case, and the 14th day Malaysia remained below 200 active cases for the 3rd time during the RMCO period.

They also shared that there is one less patient in the ICU – 6 cases right now, and one less patient requiring respiratory support – 4 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Kuala Lumpur is at the top with 2,587 cases, followed by Selangor with 2,171 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 1,034 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today, which means a total of 127 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.36%.

Death #127 : Case 9124 was a 62-year old Malaysian male with a history of diabetes and hypertension.

He started coughing on 11 August and was admitted to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Kedah on 13 August 2020, after testing positive for COVID-19.

His condition deteriorated and he was placed on a respirator since 19 August 2020, but passed away on 30 August 2020 at 10:35 PM.

Day 81 Of Recovery Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 81st day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities. However, entertainment outlets, theme parks and cinemas are still not allowed.

The Malaysian government has so far announced eight Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
