COVID-19 Malaysia : 9559 Cases, 9136 Recovered, 128 Dead

Malaysia today reported a spike of 100 new COVID-19 cases, but NO death, and discharged 12 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 8 September 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 12 More Patients Recovered!

At 5 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 12 patients fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 9,136 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 95.6%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 100 New Cases!

They identified a spike of 100 new COVID-19 cases today :

The Sungai Cluster is a new cluster, identified at a medical center in Kedah. The index case (Case 9455) was a healthcare worker at the medical center, symptomatic since 30 August but did not seek treatment. A screening test was performed on 5 September, and it came back positive for COVID-19.

The second case of the cluster (Case 9456) is also a healthcare worker at the same medical center, and close contact of the index case. This case was symptomatic on 5 September and was screened, and found to be positive.

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 9559, with 295 active cases – an increase of 88 cases, and the 2nd day Malaysia went above 200 active cases for the 3rd time during the RMCO period.

They also shared that there was one additional patient in the ICU – 7 cases right now, but no additional patient requiring respiratory support – 4 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Kuala Lumpur is at the top with 2,615 cases, followed by Selangor with 2,188 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 1,038 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : NO Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced NO death today, which means a total of 128 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.36%.

Day 89 Of Recovery Movement Control Order In Malaysia

Today marks the 89th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

The Malaysian government has so far announced eight Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
