Malaysia today reported 111 new COVID-19 cases but 0 death, and discharged 30 patients who fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 30 More Patients Recovered!

At 5 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 30 patients fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 9,696 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 90.7%.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 111 New Cases!

They identified 111 new COVID-19 cases today :

  • 4 cases imported from overseas
    – 2 cases in KL : foreigners from India and Indonesia
    – 1 case in Selangor : foreigner from Indonesia
    – 1 case in Johor : foreigner from Singapore
  • 76 local cases involving Malaysian citizens
    – 67 cases in Sabah : 48 from Bangau-Bangau Cluster, 13 from LD Benteng Cluster, 2 from hospital referral screening, 1 from workplace screening, 1 screening of symptomatic case, 1 from SARI screening, 1 from screening at International Port of Entry
    – 7 cases in Kedah : 6 from Sungai Cluster, 1 from SARI screening
    – 1 case in Selangor : screening of symptomatic case with history of travel from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
    – 1 case in Pahang : screening of symptomatic case with history of travel from Semporna, Sabah
  • 31 local cases involving foreigners
    – 30 cases in Sabah : 26 from Bangau-Bangau Cluster, 2 from Laut Cluster, 1 from workplace screening, 1 from screening of symptomatic case
    – 1 case in Kedah : from Sungai Cluster

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 10,687, with 858 active cases – an increase of 81 cases, and the 15th day Malaysia has above 500 active cases for the 1st time during the RMCO period.

They also shared that there are two fewer patients in the ICU – 4 cases right now, but one additional patient requiring respiratory support – 3 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Kuala Lumpur is at the top with 2,652 cases, followed by Selangor with 2,222 cases, Sabah with 1,483 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 1,044 cases.

 

Bangau-Bangau Cluster Update

The Bangau-Bangau Cluster continues to generate new cases. As of 12 PM on 25 September 2020, 74 new cases were detected out of 134 screenings :

  • 74 new cases, 134 cases total
  • 37 negative individuals
  • 9 individuals waiting for their results

Of the 134 positive cases :

  • 90 are Malaysian citizens
  • 44 are citizens of the Philippines

 

LD Benteng Cluster Update

The LD Benteng Cluster continues to generate new cases. As of 12 PM on 25 September 2020, 13 new cases were detected out of 10,634 screenings :

Tawau

  • 6 new cases, 576 cases total
  • 6,136 negative individuals
  • 1,342 individuals waiting for their results

Lahad Datu

  • 5 new cases, 164 cases total
  • 1,901 negative individuals
  • 509 individuals waiting for their results

Kinabatangan

  • 2 new cases, 2 cases total
  • 3 negative individuals

Sandakan

  • 1 case in total

Out of all 10,634 screenings carried out :

  • 1,771 prisoners : 620 positive
  • 1,160 prison + IPD staff : 24 positive
  • 1,394 close contacts of staff family and prisoners : 27 positive
  • 1,534 government officers (others) : 0 positive
  • 4,775 social contacts : 72 positive

Of the 743 positive cases :

  • 315 are Malaysian citizens
  • 202 are citizens of the Philippines
  • 113 are Indonesian citizens

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : NO Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced NO death today, which means a total of 133 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.24%.

Day 106 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 106th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Malaysia RMCO Liberalisation : What Is Allowed / Not Allowed?

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

The Malaysian government has so far announced several Enhanced MCOs :

COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!

Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :

  • Avoid suspected cases or disease hotpots, like hospitals, if possible!
  • Avoid public events and crowds
  • Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
  • Keep our home, office, vehicles, etc. clean
  • If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
  • Wash your food with water (and soap) after purchase and before preparation
