COVID-19 Malaysia : 12088 Cases, 10216 Healed, 137 Dead

Malaysia today reported the highest one-day surge of 317 new COVID-19 cases and ONE death, but discharged 121 patients who fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 121 More Patients Recovered!

At 5:30 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 121 patients fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 10,216 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 84.5%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 317 New Cases!

They reported a surge of 317 new COVID-19 cases today – the highest in history

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 12,088, with 1,735 active cases – an increase of 195 cases, and the 2nd day Malaysia has above 1500 active cases for the 1st time during the Recovery MCO period.

They also shared that there are SEVEN additional patients in the ICU – 29 cases right now, and no additional patient requiring respiratory support – 4 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Kuala Lumpur is at the top with 2,691 cases, followed by Selangor with 2,347 cases, Sabah with 2,263 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 1,052 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : ONE Death Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced ONE death today, which means a total of 137 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.13%.

Death #137 : Case 10,939 was a 57 year-old Malaysian male with a history of diabetes, hypertension and dislipidemia. He started experiencing cough, fever and lack of appetite since 10 September 2020.

On 24 September 2020, he experienced breathing difficulties and was brought to the Trauma and Emergency Department at Semporna Hospital, and was referred to the Tawau Hospital on the same day.

He was admitted to the ICU and put on ventilation. His COVID-19 screening test came back positive on 28 September 2020.

His condition deteriorated and he passed away on 2 October 2020 at 11:44 PM.

Day 114 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 114th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

The Malaysian government has so far announced several Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
