COVID-19 Malaysia : 14368 Cases, 10519 Healed, 146 Dead

Malaysia today reported 375 new COVID-19 cases and FIVE deaths, but discharged 18 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 8 October 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 18 More Patients Recovered!

At 6 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 18 patients fully recovered, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 10,519 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 73.2%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 375 New Cases!

The surge continues with 375 new COVID-19 cases today

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 14,368, with 3,703 active cases – a staggering increase of 352 cases, and the second day Malaysia has above 3000 active cases for the 1st time during the Recovery MCO period.

They also shared that there are twenty additional patients in the ICU – 60 cases right now, and seven additional patients requiring respiratory support – 20 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 3,291 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 2,723 cases, Selangor with 2,507 cases, and Kedah with 1,616 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : FIVE Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced FIVE deaths today, which means a total of 146 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.02%.

Death #142 : Case 12,489 was a 55 year-old Malaysian male with a history of diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia. He passed away in the Lahad Datu Hospital.

Death #143 : Case 13,692 was a 75 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of hypertension. She passed away at Semporna Hospital.

Death #144 : Case 13,705 was a 57 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes and hypertension. He passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sandakan.

Death #145 : Case 14,261 was an 82 year-old Malaysian male who died in the Tawau Hospital.

Death #146 : Case 14,264 was a 53 year-old Malaysian male with a history of diabetes. He died in Hospital Tawau.

Day 119 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 119th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

The Malaysian government has so far announced several Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
