COVID-19 Malaysia : 14722 Cases, 10707 Healed, 152 Dead

Malaysia today reported 354 new COVID-19 cases and SIX deaths, but discharged 188 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 9 October 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 188 Patients Discharged!

At 6 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 188 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 10,707 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 72.7%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 354 New Cases!

The surge continues with 354 new COVID-19 cases today

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 14,722, with 3,863 active cases – an increase of 160 cases, and the third day Malaysia has above 3000 active cases for the 1st time during the Recovery MCO period.

They also shared that there are eight additional patients in the ICU – 68 cases right now, and five additional patients requiring respiratory support – 25 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 3,565 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 2,733 cases, Selangor with 2,531 cases, and Kedah with 1,626 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : SIX Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced SIX deaths today, which means a total of 152 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.03%.

Death #147 : Case 12,991 was a 54 year-old Malaysian male with a history of hypertension and asthma He passed away in the Tawau Hospital.

Death #148 : Case 14,028 was a 68 year-old Malaysian male who passed away at Semporna Hospital.

Death #149 : Case 14,151 was a 66 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and pulmonary tuberculosis. She passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Death #150 : Case 14,640 was a 58 year-old Malaysian female who died in the Tawau Hospital.

Death #151 : Case 14,641 was a 57 year-old Malaysian female with a history of hypertension. She passed away in Semporna Hospital.

Death #152 : Case 14,642 was a 64 year-old Malaysian male with a history of benign prostate hyperplasia. He passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Day 120 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 120th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
