Malaysia today reported 374 new COVID-19 cases and THREE deaths, but discharged 73 patients who fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 73 Patients Discharged!
At 6 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 73 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 10,780 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 71.4%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 374 New Cases!
The surge continues with 374 new COVID-19 cases today
- 2 cases imported from overseas
– 2 cases in KL : Malaysian citizen + foreigner from the Philippines - 372 local cases
– 277 cases in Sabah : 113 from close contact screening, 31 from existing clusters, 15 from new Highway Cluster, 118 from assorted screening.
– 44 cases in Selangor : 13 from close contact screening, 7 from existing clusters, 6 from new Bah Manggis Cluster, 3 from new Utama Cluster, 3 from new Tasik Cluster, 1 from new Simera Cluster, 5 from assorted screening
– 27 cases in Kedah : all from Tembok Cluster
– 9 cases in Sarawak : 4 from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah), 4 from new Putra Cluster, 1 from assorted screening
– 4 cases in KL : 3 from existing clusters, 1 from COVID-19 screening
– 3 cases in Penang : all from Prison Remand Cluster
– 2 cases in Johor : 1 from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah), 1 from assorted screening
– 2 cases in Perak : 1 from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah), 1 from close contact screening
– 2 cases in Labuan : 1 from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah), 1 from close contact screening
– 1 case in Melaka : from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah)
– 1 case in Putrajaya : from existing cluster
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 15,096, with 4,161 active cases – an increase of 298 cases, and the first day Malaysia has above 4000 active cases for the 1st time during the Recovery MCO period.
They also shared that there are five additional patients in the ICU – 73 cases right now, and three additional patients requiring respiratory support – 28 cases right now.
Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 3,842 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 2,739 cases, Selangor with 2,575 cases, and Kedah with 1,653 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : THREE Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced THREE deaths today, which means a total of 155 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 1.03%.
Death #153 : Case 14,038 was a 61 year-old Malaysian male with a history of diabetes and ocular tuberculosis. He passed away in the Tawau Hospital.
Death #154 : Case 14,974 was a 54 year-old Malaysian female with a history of diabetes, hypertension and obesity. She passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Death #155 : Case 14,999 was a 51 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at the Semporna Hospital.

Day 121 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia
Today marks the 121st day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.
Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!
Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotpots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
- Keep our home, office, vehicles, etc. clean
- If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
- Wash your food with water (and soap) after purchase and before preparation
