Malaysia today reported a shocking 660 new COVID-19 cases and FOUR deaths, but also discharged 350 patients who fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 350 Patients Discharged!
At 6:30 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 350 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 11,372 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 67.4%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 660 New Cases!
The surge continues with a shocking 660 new COVID-19 cases today
- 2 cases imported from overseas
– 1 case in KL : foreigner from Nepal
– 1 case in Labuan : foreigner from India - 658 local cases
– 443 cases in Sabah : 162 from close contact screening, 38 from existing clusters, 13 from new Semarak Cluster, 10 from new Bina Cluster, 4 from new Sabindo Cluster, 2 from new Bestari Cluster, 214 from assorted screening.
– 76 cases in Selangor : 45 from existing clusters, 16 from close contact screening, 9 from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah), 5 from symptomatic screening, 1 from new Bah Kenangan Cluster.
– 60 cases in Kedah : all from Tembok Cluster
– 23 cases in Penang : 18 from Prison Remand Cluster, 3 from new Jawi Prison Cluster, 2 from self-screening
– 18 cases in Labuan : 9 from healthcare worker screening, 6 from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah), 2 from existing clusters, 1 from close contact screening
– 16 cases in Perak : all from Tembok Cluster
– 10 cases in Johor : 5 from close contact screening, 4 from existing clusters, 1 from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah)
– 9 cases in KL : 6 from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah), 2 from existing clusters, 1 from close contact screening
– 2 cases in Negeri Sembilan : from existing clusters
– 1 case in Pahang : from Jalan Meru Cluster
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 16,880, with 5,345 active cases – an increase of 306 cases, and the second day Malaysia has above 5000 active cases for the 1st time during the Recovery MCO period.
They also shared that there are 3 additional patients in the ICU – 101 cases right now, and 3 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 32 cases right now.
Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 5,064 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 2,792 cases, Selangor with 2,746 cases, and Kedah with 1,739 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : FOUR Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced FOUR deaths today, which means a total of 163 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.97%.
Death #160 : Case 16,315 was an 84 year-old Malaysian female with a history of hypertension and hyperlipidemia. She passed away in the Duchess of Kent Hospital.
Death #161 : Case 16,316 was an 83 year-old Malaysian male with a history of hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipidemia. He passed away in the Duchess of Kent Hospital.
Death #162 : Case 16,662 was a 36 year-old foreign female with a history of tuberculosis. She passed away in the Semporna Hospital.
Death #163 : Case 16,663 was a 59 year-old Malaysian male with a history of chronic kidney disease. He passed away in the Tawau Hospital.

Day 124 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia
Today marks the 124th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.
Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!
Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotpots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
- Keep our home, office, vehicles, etc. clean
- If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
- Wash your food with water (and soap) after purchase and before preparation
