COVID-19 Malaysia : 17540 Cases, 11605 Healed, 167 Dead

Malaysia today reported 660 new COVID-19 cases and FOUR deaths for a second day, but also discharged 233 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 14 October 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 233 Patients Discharged!

At 6:30 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 233 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 11,605 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 66.2%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 660 New Cases!

The surge continues with 660 new COVID-19 cases for a second time today

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 17,540, with 5,768 active cases – a whopping increase of 423 cases, and the third day Malaysia has above 5000 active cases for the 1st time during the Recovery MCO period.

They also shared that there are 7 additional patients in the ICU – 108 cases right now, and 3 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 35 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 5,493 cases, followed by Selangor with 2,814 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 2,804 cases, and Kedah with 1,852 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : FOUR Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced FOUR deaths today, which means a total of 167 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.96%.

Death #164 : Case 11,152 was an 80 year-old Malaysian male with a history of hypertension and gout. He passed away in the Lahad Datu Hospital.

Death #165 : Case 17,307 was an 63 year-old Malaysian female with a history of hypertension and diabetes. She passed away in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Death #166 : Case 17,308 was a 73 year-old Malaysian female with a history of hypertension. She passed away in the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

Death #167 : Case 17,309 was a 47 year-old foreign female with a history of hypertension. She passed away in the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

Day 125 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 125th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
