Malaysia today reported 589 new COVID-19 cases and THREE deaths, but also discharged 409 patients who fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 409 Patients Discharged!
At 6 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 409 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 12,014 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 66.3%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 589 New Cases!
The surge continues with 589 new COVID-19 cases
- 3 cases imported from overseas
– 2 cases in Sarawak : both foreigners from Indonesia (ship sign-on)
– 1 cases in KL : foreigner from Ukraine - 586 local cases
– 304 cases in Sabah : 165 from close contact screening, 25 from existing clusters, 13 from new Olive Cluster, 101 from assorted screening.
– 150 cases in Selangor : 125 from existing clusters, 13 from close contact screening, 9 from screening of symptomatic cases, 3 from assorted screening.
– 52 cases in Perak : 50 from existing clusters, 2 from new Bah Pengkalan Cluster.
– 31 cases in Kedah : 28 from Tembok Cluster, 3 from screening of symptomatic cases
– 16 cases in Penang : 15 from existing clusters, 1 from SARI screening
– 11 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 9 from close contact screening, 1 from Bah Kasturi Cluster, 1 from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah)
– 9 cases in KL : 4 from existing clusters, 2 from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah), 1 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
– 6 cases in Labuan : 3 from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah), 2 from new Saguking Cluster, 1 from Bah Bundle Cluster.
– 2 cases in Sarawak : 1 from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah), 1 from close contact screening
– 2 cases in Melaka : 1 from close contact screening, 1 from SARI screening
– 2 cases in Kelantan : from sign-on ship screening
– 1 case in Putrajaya : from new Bah Pasir Cluster
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 18,129, with 5,945 active cases – an increase of 177 cases, and the fourth day Malaysia has above 5000 active cases for the first time during the Recovery MCO period.
They also shared that there are five fewer patients in the ICU – 105 cases right now, and four fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 31 cases right now.
Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 5,797 cases, followed by Selangor with 2,964 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 2,814 cases, and Kedah with 1,883 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : THREE Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced THREE deaths today, which means a total of 170 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.94%.
Death #168 : Case 12,170 was a 54 year-old Malaysian female with a history of hypertension, diabetes, heart disease and thyroid disease. She passed away in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Death #169 : Case 15,303 was a 68 year-old Malaysian male with a history of diabetes. He passed away in the Tawau Hospital.
Death #170 : Case 13,844 was a 100 year-old Malaysian female who passed away in the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

Day 126 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia
Today marks the 126th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.
Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!
Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotpots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
- Keep our home, office, vehicles, etc. clean
- If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
- Wash your food with water (and soap) after purchase and before preparation
