Malaysia today reported 629 new COVID-19 cases and 6 deaths, but also discharged 245 patients who fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 245 Patients Discharged!
At 6 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 245 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 12,259 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 65.4%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 629 New Cases!
The surge continues with 629 new COVID-19 cases
- 2 cases imported from overseas
– 2 cases in KL : Malaysian citizens from New Zealand and Singapore - 627 local cases
– 489 cases in Sabah : 260 from close contact screening, 71 from existing clusters, 158 from assorted screening.
– 50 cases in Selangor : 25 from close contact screening, 8 from new Merbok Cluster, 6 from existing clusters, 6 from screening of returnees from high-risk area, 5 from assorted screening.
– 33 cases in Penang : 32 from existing clusters, 1 from screening of lockup prisoner.
– 19 cases in Labuan : 9 from Bah Bundle Cluster, 6 from screening of returnees from high-risk area (Sabah), 3 from close contact screening, 1 from ship sign-off screening
– 9 cases in Perak : 5 from new Buntar Cluster, 4 from new Lekir Cluster.
– 8 cases in KL : 3 from screening of returnees from high-risk area, 1 from close contact screening, 4 from assorted screening
– 7 cases in Kedah : 6 from Tembok Cluster, 1 from SARI screening
– 5 cases in Johor : 2 from Simera Cluster, 1 from screening of returnees from high-risk area, 1 from close contact screening, 1 from symptomatic case screening
– 3 cases in Melaka : 2 from Utama Cluster, 1 from close contact screening
– 2 cases in Putrajaya : 1 from new Buntar Cluster, 1 from Selasih Cluster
– 1 case in Negeri Sembilan : from close contact screening
– 1 case in Pahang : from ship sign-on screening
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 18,758, with 6,323 active cases – an increase of 378 cases, and the first day Malaysia has above 6000 active cases for the first time during the Recovery MCO period.
They also shared that there are four fewer patients in the ICU – 99 cases right now, and no change in patients requiring respiratory support – 31 cases right now.
Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 6,286 cases, followed by Selangor with 3,014 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 2,824 cases, and Kedah with 1,890 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : SIX Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced SIX deaths today, which means a total of 176 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.94%.
Death #171 : Case 11,628 was a 66 year-old Malaysian male with a history of hypertension, diabetes, and stroke. He passed away in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Death #172 : Case 15,853 was a 72 year-old Malaysian male with a history of heart disease. He passed away in the Duchess of Kent Hospital.
Death #173 : Case 18,618 was a 39 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of stroke. He passed away in the Semporna Hospital.
Death #174 : Case 18,616 was a 74 year-old Malaysian female with a history of hypertension, diabetes, and kidney disease. She passed away in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Death #175 : Case 18,617 was a 67 year-old Malaysian male with a history of hypertension, heart disease, and stroke. He passed away in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Death #176 : Case 18,676 was a 52 year-old foreign male with a history of hypertension, heart disease, psoriasis and bone disease. He passed away in the University Malaya Medical Centre.

Day 127 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia
Today marks the 127th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.
Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.
The Malaysian government has so far announced several Enhanced MCOs :
- 3 Zones In PJ Old Town : 10 May until 23 May 2020
- 6 Parcels In Selayang Baru : 25 April until 3 May 2020
- 8 Parcels In Pusat Bandar Utara : 20 April until 3 May 2020
- Whole Masjid India Area : 14 April until 28 April 2020
- Selangor Mansion + Malayan Mansion : 7 April 2020 indefinitely
- Menara City One : 31 March until 13 April 2020
- Hulu Langat : 30 March until 13 April 2020
- Two areas in Simpang Renggam : 27 March until 9 April 2020
- 28 towns in Kedah + Tawau Prison : 11 September until 25 September 2020
- Lahad Datu, Tawau, Kunak and Semporna : 29 September until 12 October 2020
- Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Putatan : 7 October indefinitely

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!
Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotpots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
- Keep our home, office, vehicles, etc. clean
- If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
- Wash your food with water (and soap) after purchase and before preparation
