COVID-19 Malaysia : 20498 Cases, 13262 Healed, 187 Dead

Yet another record day as Malaysia reported a 871 new COVID-19 cases and 7 deaths, but also discharged 701 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 18 October 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 701 Patients Discharged!

At 6 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 701 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 13,262 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 64.7%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 871 New Cases!

The surge continues with a record 871 new COVID-19 cases!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 20,498, with 7,049 active cases – an increase of 163 cases, and the first day Malaysia has above 7000 active cases for the first time during the Recovery MCO period.

They also shared that there are five fewer patients in the ICU – 86 cases right now, and two fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 28 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 7,439 cases, followed by Selangor with 3,250 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 2,846 cases, and Kedah with 1,937 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : SEVEN Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced SEVEN deaths today, which means a total of 187 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.91%.

Death #181 : Case 13,525 was a 61 year-old Malaysian male who passed away in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Death #182 : Case 12,984 was a 70 year-old Malaysian female with a history of hypertension. She passed away in the Tawau Hospital.

Death #183 : Case 13,706 was a 57 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension. He died in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Death #184 : Case 20,328 was a 55 year-old foreign female, with a history of hypertension. She died in the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

Death #185 : Case 20,329 was a 52 year-old foreign male who passed away in the Tawau Hospital.

Death #186 : Case 17,779 was a 44 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of heart disease, hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia. He passed away in the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

Death #187 : Case 20,401 was a 46 year-old Malaysia female, with a history of hypertension.

Day 129 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 129th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
