COVID-19 Malaysia : 22957 Cases, 14931 Healed, 199 Dead

Malaysia reported 732 new COVID-19 cases and 6 deaths today, but also discharged 580 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 21 October 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 580 Patients Discharged!

At 6:30 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 580 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 14,931 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 65.0%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 732 New Cases!

The surge continues with 732 new COVID-19 cases!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 22,957, with 7,827 active cases – an increase of 146 cases, and the 4th day Malaysia has above 7000 active cases for the first time during the Recovery MCO period.

They also shared that there are 7 additional patients in the ICU – 102 cases right now, and 2 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 31 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of cases, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 9,290 cases, followed by Selangor with 3,605 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 2,886 cases, and Kedah with 1,964 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : SIX Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced SIX deaths today, which means a total of 187 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.87%.

Death #194 : Case 22,756 was a 71 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of breast cancer and stroke. She passed away at the Semporna Hospital.

Death #195 : Case 22,757 was a 65 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension, diabetes, chronic Hepatitis B, and autoimmune blood disease. He died in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Death #196 : Case 22,758 was a 65 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of stroke. He passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

Death #197 : Case 22,759 was a 55 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension and diabetes. He passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

Death #198 : Case 22,760 was a 27 year-old foreign male, who passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

Death #199 : Case 22,943 was a 46 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension. He passed away at the Labuan Hospital.

Day 132 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 132nd day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
