COVID-19 Malaysia : 23804 Cases, 15417 Healed, 204 Dead

Malaysia reported 847 new COVID-19 cases and 5 deaths today, but also discharged 486 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 22 October 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 580 Patients Discharged!

At 6 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 486 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 15,417 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 64.8%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 847 New Cases!

The surge continues with 847 new COVID-19 cases!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 23,804, with 8,183 active cases – an increase of 356 cases, and the first day Malaysia has above 8000 active cases for the first time during the Recovery MCO period.

They also shared that there are 12 fewer patients in the ICU – 90 cases right now, and 2 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 29 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 9,868 cases, followed by Selangor with 3,742 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 2,909 cases, and Kedah with 1,967 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : FIVE Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced FIVE deaths today, which means a total of 187 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.86%.

Death #200 : Case 15,063 was a 67 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia. She passed away at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Kedah.

Death #201 : Case 11,865 was a 65 year-old Malaysian female, who passed away in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #202 : Case 23,533 was a 88 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Death #203 : Case 23,534 was a 78 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of stroke. He passed away at the Tuaran Hospital in Sabah.

Death #204 : Case 23,535 was a 60 year-old foreign female, who passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

Day 133 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 133rd day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
