COVID-19 Malaysia : 24514 Cases, 15884 Healed, 214 Dead

Malaysia reported 710 new COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths today, but also discharged 467 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 23 October 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 467 Patients Discharged!

At 6 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 467 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 15,884 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 64.8%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 710 New Cases!

The surge continues with 710 new COVID-19 cases!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 24,514, with 8,416 active cases – an increase of 233 cases, and the second day Malaysia has above 8000 active cases for the first time during the Recovery MCO period.

They also shared that there are no additional patients in the ICU – 90 cases right now, and one less patient requiring respiratory support – 28 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 10,396 cases, followed by Selangor with 3,804 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 2,920 cases, and Kedah with 1,968 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : TEN Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced TEN deaths today, which means a total of 187 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.87%.

Death #205 : Case 12,154 was a 77 year-old foreign male, with a history of diabetes, pancreatic cancer and dyslipidemia. He passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #206 : Case 14,924 was a 69 year-old Malaysian female, who passed away in the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Death #207 : Case 15,274 was a 54 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and dyslipidemia. He passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Death #208 : Case 15,306 was a 66 year-old foreign male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Death #209 : Case 24,267 was a 62 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, gout, heart disease and obesity. She passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

Death #210 : Case 24,330 was a 63 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension, dyslipidemia and stroke. He passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

Death #211 : Case 24,331 was a 61 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension. He passed away at the Tuaran Hospital.

Death #212 : Case 24,332 was a 33 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of kidney disease. He passed away at the Women and Children’s Hospital in Likas, Sabah.

Death #213 : Case 18,681 was a 67 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away in the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Kedah.

Death #214 : Case 24,507 was a 58 year-old foreign female, with a history of asthma. She passed away in the Labuan Hospital.

Day 134 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 134th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

The Malaysian government has so far announced several Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
