COVID-19 Malaysia : 25742 Cases, 16555 Healed, 221 Dead

Malaysia reported a record 1228 new COVID-19 cases and 7 deaths today, but also discharged 671 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 24 October 2020…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 671 Patients Discharged!

At 6 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 671 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 16,555 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 64.3%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1228 New Cases!

The surge continues with a RECORD 1228 new COVID-19 cases!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 25,742, with 8,966 active cases – a shocking increase of 550 cases, and the third day Malaysia has above 8000 active cases for the first time during the Recovery MCO period.

They also shared that there are two additional patients in the ICU – 92 cases right now, and three additional patients requiring respiratory support – 31 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 11,285 cases, followed by Selangor with 3,880 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 2,939 cases, and Kedah with 2,044 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : SEVEN Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced SEVEN deaths today, which means a total of 221 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.86%.

Death #215 : Case 13,507 was a 88 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension. He passed away at the Tuaran Hospital in Sabah.

Death #216 : Case 14,008 was a 60 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension, asthma and gout. He passed away in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #217 : Case 13,698 was a 62 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes. He passed away at the Tawau Hospital in Sabah.

Death #218 : Case 24,324 was a 75 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension. He passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Death #219 : Case 24,323 was a 72 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of dyslipidemia, Parkinson’s disease and cataracts. He passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

Death #220 : Case 25,403 was a 47 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Lahad Datu Hospital.

Death #221 : Case 25,718 was a 63 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, chronic kidney disease and hydrocephalus. He passed away at the Penang Hospital.

Day 135 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 135th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
