COVID-19 Malaysia : 28640 Cases, 18499 Healed, 238 Dead

Malaysia reported 835 new COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths today, but also discharged 674 patients who fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 674 Patients Discharged!

At 6 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 674 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 18,499 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 64.6%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 835 New Cases!

The surge continues with 835 new COVID-19 cases!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 28,640, with 9,903 active cases – an increase of 159 cases, and the second day Malaysia has above 9000 active cases for the first time during the Recovery MCO period.

They also shared that there are five fewer patients in the ICU – 89 cases right now, and one additional patient requiring respiratory support – 32 cases right now.

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 13,155 cases, followed by Selangor with 4,271 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 2,977 cases, and Kedah with 2,052 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : TWO Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced TWO deaths today, which means a total of 236 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.83%.

Death #237 : Case 27,478 was an 82 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), chronic kidney disease and atrial fibrillation (AF). He passed away at the Tawau Hospital in Sabah.

Death #238 : Case 28,215 was a 53 year-old foreign female, who passed away at the Tawau Hospital.

Day 138 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 138th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
