COVID-19 Malaysia : 30889 Cases, 20248 Healed, 249 Dead

Malaysia reported 799 new COVID-19 cases and 3 deaths today, but also discharged 491 patients who fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 491 Patients Discharged!

At 6 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 491 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 20,248 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 65.6%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 799 New Cases!

The surge continues with 649 new COVID-19 cases!

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 14,519 cases, followed by Selangor with 4,645 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 3,033 cases, and Kedah with 2,122 cases.

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 30,889, with 10,392 active cases – an increase of 305 cases, and the third day Malaysia has above 10,000 active cases for the first time during the Recovery MCO period.

They also shared that there are 16 fewer patients in the ICU – 90 cases right now, and three fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 20 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : THREE Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced THREE deaths today, which means a total of 249 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.81%.

Death #247 : Case 11,862 was a 70 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension. He passed away in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #248 : Case 29,786 was a 53 year-old foreign male, passed away in the Tawau Hospital in Sabah.

Death #249 : Case 29,787 was a 60 year-old foreign female, with a history of hypertension and stroke. She passed away in the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Day 141 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 141st day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

The Malaysian government has so far announced several Enhanced MCOs :

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.
