COVID-19 Malaysia : 42050 Cases, 30304 Healed, 300 Dead

Malaysia reported 869 new COVID-19 cases and 6 deaths today, but also discharged 725 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 10 November 2020…

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 725 Patients Discharged!

At 6:15 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 725 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 30,304 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 72.1%.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 869 New Cases!

The surge continues with 869 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

– 397 cases in Sabah : 69 from existing clusters, 23 from new Liawan, Tatahan and GK Tawau clusters, 215 from close contact screening, 90 from assorted screening
– 235 cases in Selangor : 162 from existing clusters, 33 from close contact screening, 40 from assorted screening
– 141 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 129 from existing clusters, 10 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
– 27 cases in Penang : 22 from existing clusters, 2 from close contact screening, 1 from SARI screening, 2 from assorted screening
– 19 cases in KL : 11 from existing clusters, 2 from close contact screening, 6 from assorted screening
– 12 cases in Perak : 9 from existing clusters, 2 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
– 9 cases in Kelantan : all from new Kube Cluster
– 8 cases in Johor : 6 from existing clusters, 1 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
– 8 cases in Labuan : 6 from existing clusters, 1 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
– 6 cases in Sarawak : 3 from existing clusters, 3 from assorted screening
– 3 cases in Kedah : 2 from existing clusters, 1 from close contact screening
– 3 cases in Putrajaya : all from existing clusters

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states. Sabah is at the top with 21,189 cases, followed by Selangor with 6,523 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 3,216 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 2,454 cases.

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 42,050, with 11,446 active cases – an increase of 138 cases, and the 5th day Malaysia went above 11,000 active cases during the Recovery MCO period.

They also shared that there are 4 fewer patients in the ICU – 82 cases right now, and 4 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 27 cases right now.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : SIX Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced SIX deaths today, which means a total of 300 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.71%.

Death #295 : Case 10729 was a 77 year-old Malaysian male with a history of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). He died in the Semporna Hospital in Sabah.

Death #296 : Case 13718 was a 47 year-old Malaysian male who died in the Semporna Hospital in Sabah.

Death #297 : Case 37627 was a 53 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and stroke. He died in the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Death #298 : Case 37624 was a 62 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of cervical cancer, breast cancer and osteoarthritis. She died in the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Death #299 : Case 40579 was a 84 year-old Malaysian male, with a Parkinson’s disease, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and Hepatitis B. He died in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #300 : Case 39869 was a 65 year-old foreign female, who died in the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Day 152 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 152nd day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

Interstate travel is now allowed (except to Enhanced MCO / administrative restricted areas), as well as many sports facilities.

The Malaysian government has so far announced several Enhanced MCOs :

3 Zones In PJ Old Town : 10 May until 23 May 2020
6 Parcels In Selayang Baru : 25 April until 3 May 2020
8 Parcels In Pusat Bandar Utara : 20 April until 3 May 2020
Whole Masjid India Area : 14 April until 28 April 2020
Selangor Mansion + Malayan Mansion : 7 April 2020 indefinitely
Menara City One : 31 March until 13 April 2020
Hulu Langat : 30 March until 13 April 2020
Two areas in Simpang Renggam : 27 March until 9 April 2020
28 towns in Kedah + Tawau Prison : 11 September until 25 September 2020
Lahad Datu, Tawau, Kunak and Semporna : 29 September until 12 October 2020
Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Putatan : 7 October indefinitely
Klang, Sandakan, Papar + Tuaran : 9 October until 23 October 2020

They also announced Administrative Enhanced MCO for two areas in Banting, a section of Chow Kit, some residential areas in Selayang and Pudu.

COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!

Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :

Avoid suspected cases or disease hotpots, like hospitals, if possible!
Avoid public events and crowds
Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
Keep our home, office, vehicles, etc. clean
If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
Wash your food with water (and soap) after purchase and before preparation
