Malaysia reported 1295 new COVID-19 cases and 7 deaths today, but discharged 1052 patients who fully recovered!

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1052 Patients Discharged!

At 6 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 1052 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 72,733 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 82.7%.

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1295 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 1295 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

  • 10 cases imported from overseas
    – 4 cases each in KL and Selangor
    – 1 case each in Johor and Labuan
  • 1285 local cases
    – 477 cases in Selangor : 273 from existing clusters, 4 from new Galaxy Cluster, 79 from close contact screening, 121 from assorted screening
    – 268 cases in Sabah : 52 from existing clusters, 5 from new Bukit Punai Cluster, 105 from close contact screening, 106 from assorted screening
    – 228 cases in KL : 128 from existing clusters, 54 from new Permai, Matahari and Laut construction site clusters, 23 from close contact screening, 23 from assorted screening
    – 104 cases in Johor : 61 from existing clusters, 6 from new Cahaya Mahsuri Cluster, 22 from close contact screening, 15 from assorted screening
    – 69 cases in Penang : 51 from existing clusters, 13 from close contact screening, 5 from assorted screening
    – 60 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 53 from existing clusters, 2 from close contact screening, 5 from assorted screening
    – 35 cases in Perak : 25 from existing clusters, 1 from new Seri Tasik Cluster, 4 from close contact screening, 5 from assorted screening
    – 14 cases in Melaka : 13 from existing clusters, 1 from close contact screening
    – 13 cases in Pahang : 4 from existing clusters, 4 from new Inten Cluster, 2 from close contact screening, 3 from assorted screening
    – 9 cases in Kedah : 5 from existing clusters, 2 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
    – 4 cases in Putrajaya : 2 from existing clusters, 1 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
    – 2 cases in Labuan : 1 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
    – 1 case in Kelantan : from assorted screening
    – 1 case in Terengganu : from existing cluster

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 87,913, with 14,751 active cases – an increase of 236 cases.

They also shared that there are 5 fewer patients in the ICU – 113 cases right now, and 3 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 53 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states (as of yesterday).

Sabah is at the top with 33,371 cases, followed by Selangor with 22,082 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 8,897 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 6,591 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : SEVEN Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced SEVEN deaths today, which means a total of 429 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.49%.

Death #423 : Case 61363 was a 66 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and cataract. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital, Selangor.

Death #424 : Case 68245 was an 52 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes and hypertension. He passed away at the Lahad Datu Hospital, Sabah.

Death #425 : Case 74292 was a 52 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia. He passed away at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital, Kelantan.

Death #426 : Case 82577 was a 77 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension and stroke. He passed away at the Tawau Hospital, Sabah.

Death #427 : Case 61181 was a 58 year-old foreign male, who passed away at the Tawau Hospital, Sabah.

Death #428 : Case 71577 was a 76 year-old foreign male, with a history of hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at the Lahad Datu Hospital, Sabah.

Death #429 : Case 85106 was a 57 year-old foreign male, whose body was brought to the Tawau Hospital, Sabah.

Day 188 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 188th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.
