Malaysia reported 1925 new COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths, but discharged 1123 patients who fully recovered!
Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 29 December 2020…
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1123 Patients Discharged!
At 6 PM today, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 1123 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 86,715 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 79.8%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1925 New Cases!
The third wave continues with 1925 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!
- 10 cases imported from overseas
– 7 cases in KL
– 1 case each in Selangor, Sabah, and Sarawak - 1915 local cases
– 746 cases in Selangor : 196 from existing clusters, 168 from new Seri Lanang Cluster, 261 from close contact screening, 121 from assorted screening
– 353 cases in KL : 132 from existing clusters, 83 from new Jalan Chu, Awan Puteh construction site, Integra Ikon and Jalan Satang clusters, 98 from close contact screening, 40 from assorted screening
– 288 cases in Pahang : 282 from existing clusters, 1 from close contact screening, 5 from assorted screening
– 229 cases in Sabah : 7 from existing clusters, 14 from new Timbang Dayang and Teguli clusters, 134 from close contact screening, 74 from assorted screening
– 110 cases in Johor : 75 from existing clusters, 22 from close contact screening, 13 from assorted screening
– 60 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 27 from existing clusters, 10 from close contact screening, 23 from assorted screening
– 57 cases in Penang : 41 from existing clusters, 16 from close contact screening
– 31 cases in Kelantan : 17 from existing clusters, 8 from close contact screening, 6 from assorted screening
– 17 cases in Perak : 9 from existing clusters, 6 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
– 9 cases in Melaka : 3 from existing clusters, 1 from new Rambai Cluster, 3 from close contact screening, 2 from assorted screening
– 8 cases in Kedah : 1 from existing cluster, 4 from close contact screening, 3 from assorted screening
– 3 cases in Sarawak : all from assorted screening
– 2 cases in Terengganu : both from close contact screening
– 2 cases in Putrajaya : both from existing cluster
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 108,615, with 21,443 active cases – a huge increase of 800 cases.
They also shared that there is 1 additional patient in the ICU – 117 cases right now, and 2 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 55 cases right now.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State
Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.
Sabah is at the top with 36,461 cases, followed by Selangor with 30,716 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 13,048 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 7,716 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : TWO Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced TWO deaths today, which means a total of 457 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.42%.
Death #456 : Case 91966 was a 65 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, heart disease and stroke. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #457 : Case 103895 was a 68 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of hypertension, diabetes and chronic kidney disease. She passed away at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital in Kelantan.
Day 201 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia
Today marks the 201st day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 December, 2020.
Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!
Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotspots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
- If you need to wear a surgical mask, make sure you put it on and remove it properly!
