COVID-19 Malaysia: 125438 Cases, 100578 Healed, 513 Dead

Malaysia reported 2593 new COVID-19 cases and 4 deaths, but discharged 1129 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 6 January 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1129 Patients Discharged!

At 6 PM on 6 January 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 1129 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 100,578 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 80.2%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2593 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 2593 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 125,438, with 24,347 active cases – a big increase of 1460 cases.

They also shared that there are 18 additional patients in the ICU – 141 cases right now, and 15 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 67 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Sabah is at the top with 38,960 cases, followed by Selangor with 36,641 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 14,942 cases, and Negeri Sembilan with 8,361 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : FOUR Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced FOUR deaths today, which means a total of 513 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.41%.

Death #509 : Case 43178 was a 65 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, gout and chronic kidney disease. He  passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #510 : Case 106140 was a 60 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of hypertension. She passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #511 : Case 111987 was a 73 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. His body was brought to the Selayang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #512 : Case 113249 was a 50 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of hypertension, dyslipidemia and obesity. Her body was brought to the Kudat Hospital in Sabah.

 

Day 209 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 209th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 March, 2021.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.
