COVID-19 Malaysia: 131108 Cases, 105431 Healed, 537 Dead

Malaysia reported 2643 new COVID-19 cases and 16 deaths, but discharged 2708 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 8 January 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2708 Patients Discharged!

At 6:30 PM on 8 January 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 2708 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 105,431 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 80.4%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2643 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 2643 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 131,108, with 25,140 active cases – a drop of 81 cases.

They also shared that there are 28 additional patients in the ICU – 170 cases right now, and 19 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 82 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Sabah is at the top with 39,854 cases, followed by Selangor with 38,433 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 15,540 cases, and Johor with 9,300 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 16 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 16 deaths today, which means a total of 537 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.41%.

Death #522 : Case 112405 was a 59 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes and hypertension. He passed away at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor.

Death #523 : Case 123240 was a 66 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension, gout, dyslipidemia, heart disease and chronic kidney disease. His body was brought to the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Death #524 : Case 123241 was a 63 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and obesity. His body was brought to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #525 : Case 123242 was a 46 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of obesity. His body was brought to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #526 : Case 123244 was a 66 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. She passed away at the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sabah.

Death #527 : Case 123973 was a 50 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #528 : Case 123984 was a 70 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #529 : Case 124203 was a 60 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #530 : Case 125169 was a 56 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital in Johor.

Death #531 : Case 126197 was a 62 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, heart disease and hypothyroidism. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #532 : Case 126598 was a 79 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #533 : Case 126601 was a 72 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes and hypertension. He passed away at the Ampang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #534 : Case 126602 was a 71 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Banting Hospital in Selangor.

Death #535 : Case 126608 was a 63 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. She passed away at the Serdang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #536: Case 126616 was a 55 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Serdang Hospital in Selangor.

Death #537 : Case 128101 was a 44 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and obesity. He passed away at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor.

 

Day 211 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 211st day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 March, 2021.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.
