COVID-19 Malaysia: 133559 Cases, 106832 Healed, 542 Dead

Malaysia reported 2451 new COVID-19 cases and 5 deaths, but discharged 1401 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 9 January 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1401 Patients Discharged!

At 6:30 PM on 9 January 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 1401 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 106,832 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 80.0%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2451 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 2451 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 133,559, with 26,185 active cases – a big increase of 1045 cases.

They also shared that there are 7 additional patients in the ICU – 177 cases right now, but no additional patient requiring respiratory support – 82 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Sabah is at the top with 40,263 cases, followed by Selangor with 38,997 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 15,738 cases, and Johor with 9,602 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : FIVE Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced FIVE deaths today, which means a total of 542 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.41%.

Death #538 : Case 129919 was a 87 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #539 : Case 115075 was a 60 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, and stroke. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #540 : Case 130516 was a 82 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of COAD (Chronic Obstructive Airway Disease). He passed away at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor.

Death #541 : Case 130517 was a 67 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, lymphoma, asthma, stroke, psoriasis and GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease). He passed away at the Sultan Ismail Hospital in Johor.

Death #542 : Case 130518 was a 62 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor.

 

Day 212 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 212nd day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 March, 2021.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.
