Malaysia reported a record 3337 new COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths, but discharged 1710 patients who fully recovered!
Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 14 January 2021…
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1710 Patients Discharged!
At 6 PM on 14 January 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 1710 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!
That means a total of 113,288 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 76.6%.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3337 New Cases!
The third wave continues with a record 3337 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!
- 7 cases imported from overseas
– 4 from KL
– 2 from Selangor
– 1 from Sarawak - 3330 local cases
– 1034 cases in Selangor : 458 from existing clusters, 13 from new Jalan Selayang Cluster, 324 from close contact screening, 239 from assorted screening
– 460 cases in Johor : 149 from existing clusters, 55 from new Tropika and Pasir Barat clusters, 101 from close contact screening, 155 from assorted screening
– 389 cases in Sabah : 10 from existing clusters, 279 from close contact screening, 100 from assorted screening
– 253 cases in KL : 14 from existing clusters, 18 from new Dutamas construction site and Jalan Pahang clusters, 129 from close contact screening, 95 from assorted screening
– 234 cases in Penang : 166 from existing clusters, 39 from close contact screening, 29 from assorted screening
– 179 cases in Sarawak : 170 from existing clusters, 9 from assorted screening
– 169 cases in Negeri Sembilan : 8 from existing clusters, 88 from new Jalan Rantau-Siliau Cluster, 52 from close contact screening, 21 from assorted screening
– 113 cases in Pahang : 65 from existing clusters, 29 from close contact screening, 19 from assorted screening
– 92 cases in Perak : 21 from existing clusters, 1 from new Intan Mas Cluster, 44 from close contact screening, 26 from assorted screening
– 89 cases in Terengganu : 62 from existing clusters, 21 from close contact screening, 6 from assorted screening
– 86 cases in Kedah : 16 from existing clusters, 45 from close contact screening, 25 from assorted screening
– 85 cases in Melaka : 4 from existing clusters, 47 from close contact screening, 34 from assorted screening
– 85 cases in Kelantan : 26 from existing clusters, 38 from close contact screening, 21 from assorted screening
– 34 cases in Labuan : 26 from close contact screening, 8 from assorted screening
– 24 cases in Putrajaya : 3 from existing clusters, 12 from close contact screening, 9 from assorted screening
– 4 cases in Perlis : 3 from close contact screening, 1 from assorted screening
This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 147,855, with 34,004 active cases – a big increase of 1627 cases.
They also shared that there are 2 fewer patients in the ICU – 195 cases right now, but 7 additional patients requiring respiratory support – 86 cases right now.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State
Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.
Selangor overtook Sabah today with 43,164 cases, followed by Sabah with 42,288 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 17,045 cases, and Johor with 11,756 cases.
COVID-19 In Malaysia : 15 Deaths Today
The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 15 deaths today, which means a total of 578 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.39%.
Death #564 : Case 54994 was a 67 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia. He passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.
Death #565 : Case 59139 was a 27 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of SLE – Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. She passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.
Death #566 : Case 72726 was a 64 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.
Death #567 : Case 86686 was a 62 year-old Malaysian female, who passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.
Death #568 : Case 120055 was a 61 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, and osteoarthritis. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #569 : Case 125431 was an 81 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
Death #570 : Case 126310 was a 34 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of obesity. She passed away at the Serdang Hospital in Selangor.
Death #571 : Case 130620 was a 60 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, and hypertension. He passed away at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Negeri Sembilan.
Death #572 : Case 136363 was a 60 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and obesity. His body was brought to the Lahad Datu Hospital in Sabah.
Death #573 : Case 138625 was a 66 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes. His body was brought to the Lahad Datu Hospital in Sabah.
Death #574 : Case 142816 was a 91 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic lung disease and blindness. She passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.
Death #575 : Case 143623 was a 61 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, heart disease and stroke. He passed away at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor.
Death #576 : Case 143624 was a 53 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, and hypertension. He passed away at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor.
Death #577 : Case 111710 was a 37 year-old foreign female, with a history of diabetes. She passed away at the Selayang Hospital in Selangor.
Death #578 : Case 128750 was an 88 year-old foreign female, with a history of dementia. She passed away at the Lahad Datu Hospital in Sabah.
Day 217 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia
Today marks the 217th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 March, 2021.
Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.

COVID-19 : How To Keep Safe!
Here are a few simple steps to stay safe from COVID-19 :
- Avoid suspected cases or disease hotspots, like hospitals, if possible!
- Avoid public events and crowds
- Keep our hands clean with soap or hand sanitiser
