COVID-19 Malaysia: 151066 Cases, 115227 Healed, 586 Dead

Malaysia reported 3211 new COVID-19 cases and 8 deaths, but discharged 1939 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 15 January 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 1939 Patients Discharged!

At 6 PM on 15 January 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 1939 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 115,227 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 76.3%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 3211 New Cases!

The third wave continues with 3211 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 151,066, with 35,253 active cases – a big increase of 1228 cases.

They also shared that there are 9 additional patients in the ICU – 204 cases right now, and 1 additional patient requiring respiratory support – 87 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 44,053 cases, followed by Sabah with 42,802 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 17,446 cases, and Johor with 12,291 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 8 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 8 deaths today, which means a total of 586 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.39%.

Death #579 : Case 78827 was a 66 year-old Malaysian male who passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #580 : Case 105193 was a 78 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, psoriasis and dyslipidemia. He passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #581 : Case 126597 was a 79 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #582 : Case 126621 was a 50 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and Meningioma. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #583 : Case 137805 was a 62 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. He passed away at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Kedah.

Death #584 : Case 145000 was a 66 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of chronic obstructive airway disease (COAD). He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #585 : Case 145537 was a 76 year-old Malaysian female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and chronic kidney disease. She passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #586 : Case 146620 was a 72 year-old foreign female, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipdemia and blindness. She passed away at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor.

 

Day 218 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 218th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 March, 2021.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.
