COVID-19 Malaysia: 155095 Cases, 117375 Healed, 594 Dead

Malaysia reported a record 4029 new COVID-19 cases and 8 deaths, but discharged 2148 patients who fully recovered!

Here are the COVID-19 updates for Malaysia on 16 January 2021…

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 2148 Patients Discharged!

At 6:45 PM on 16 January 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that another 2148 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, and were discharged today!

That means a total of 117,375 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered in Malaysia so far! That’s a recovery rate of 75.7%.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 4029 New Cases!

The third wave continues with a record 4029 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia!

This raises the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 155,095, with 37,126 active cases – a big increase of 1873 cases.

They also shared that there is 1 additional patient in the ICU – 205 cases right now, and 8 fewer patients requiring respiratory support – 79 cases right now.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : Cases Breakdown By State

Here is the breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to states.

Selangor is at the top with 45,519 cases, followed by Sabah with 43,251 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 17,793 cases, and Johor with 13,010 cases.

 

COVID-19 In Malaysia : 8 Deaths Today

The Malaysia Ministry of Health announced 8 deaths today, which means a total of 594 people have died from COVID-19 in Malaysia – a mortality rate of 0.38%.

Death #587 : Case 104077 was a 70 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. He passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah.

Death #588 : Case 126612 was a 59 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #589 : Case 141045 was a 78 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and hearing problems. He passed away at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Perak.

Death #590 : Case 142964 was a 72 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of COAD – chronic obstructive airway disease. He passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

Death #591 : Case 144035 was a 40 year-old Malaysian male, with a history of diabetes. He passed away at the Bentong Hospital in Pahang.

Death #592 : Case 145939 was a 62 year-old Malaysian male, whose body was brought to the Lahad Datu Hospital in Sabah.

Death #593 : Case 117659 was a 45 year-old foreign female, with a history of heart disease. She passed away at the Lahad Datu Hospital in Sabah.

Death #594 : Case 149197 was a 61 year-old foreign female, with a history of diabetes, and hypertension. She passed away at the Lahad Datu Hospital in Sabah.

 

Day 219 Of COVID-19 RMCO In Malaysia

Today marks the 219th day of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) which will last until 31 March, 2021.

Under RMCO, most businesses are allowed to reopen, with a new normal of restrictions on social distancing and other measures.
